In most cases, the answer is no, there's no way to launch into full screen automatically. That would pose a security threat because it would allow hacks to "spoof" the look of the user's screen.
Full screen mode has to be generated from user interaction.
There are exceptions for "kiosk" apps (or mobile apps) that run outside of the web browser, like this Night Sky example.
