An in5 subscription allows you to export your content as HTML5 from InDesign.
With in5, you can create a layout in InDesign and export it as HTML5. The exported content is placed in a generated folder named "html5_output" that contains all the files needed for your content to appear and function in modern browsers and on a variety of devices.
After you export your content, then you would upload it to the web. Hosting is not included with an in5 subscription, so here are some materials that help explain the process of acquiring hosting, uploading content, and using free hosting alternatives:
- Publishing to the Web - a free lesson in the Becoming a Digital Publishing Master with in5
- Publishing to Your Own Custom Domain & Website - a free course on Ajar Academy (click Enroll in the Course for FREE to view the course)
- WordPress - info if you're adding the content to a WordPress site
- Tiiny Host - a simpler and faster way to host content than trying to get hosting secured and FTPing. After logging in, zip the content, give the website a name, and drag and drop the zipped file.
See the webinar we did with Tiiny Host. - For free hosting, there are some workarounds for hosting via cloud services (many cloud services, such as Dropbox, no longer allow their service to be used to host content). Here's an article with more information about the workarounds:
- There was also an in5 Answer Exchange post in which GitHub was used to host content for free:
