With in5, you can easily take a smaller image in your layout and have it open larger in a lightbox pop-up window in your exported HTML5 content.

It just takes a few easy steps…

  1. Place a higher resolution image that's large enough to support being enlarged (otherwise it will open at in the lightbox at it's original size), use InDesign's tools to scale it down to at least half size.
  2. Right-click on the image and select Mark as Thumbnail from the contextual menu.

  3. When you export (in5 > Export HTML5 with in5...), select Open Thumbnails in Lightbox.

The Result

In your exported content, the user can click on the image (without you having to create any button actions) to make a lightbox open with the larger version of the image.

The lightbox includes a close button in the upper left corner for the user to click to close it.

Another option for zooming into in5-exported content is to use the Viewer Display. For more information about the Viewer Display, see Viewer Display Options & Control Bar.
