If you use an embed code to insert HTML content into your InDesign's layout (Object > Insert HTML...) to export with in5, be aware that InDesign does not have a native feature to preview that embedded content.

Since the August 2022 release of InDesign (17.4), the Edit HTML dialog (where you enter the embed code) displays the following message:

"Code snippet preview generation is temporarily unavailable."

You can, however, preview the HTML content using a free plugin from Adobe, Insert HTML Preview for InDesign for

Windows or macOS. To acquire the free plugin, click on the Learn more link in that appears in the Edit HTML dialog:

The plugin displays a static image as a preview of the HTML content.

The best way to see how the embedded content works in your page is to export it with in5. To test just a single page, export a Custom Page Range. For more information about exporting a custom page range, please see
